OH, as for AMSOIL not being in the big race series, that's because the other oil companies struck huge multi-year deals with the series to be THE ONLY supplier of oil to that series. They do plenty of other serious racing series, ever hear of CORR?

Those trucks see more damaging environs in one race than NASCAR ever would in a year

Now that's some good data. You believed in the product enough to change brands, your buddies changed and now you sell the stuff. Does amsoil pay you to surf the chat forums...(wink).

I think a cooler engine temp is strong reason...hard to beat.
Thanks

Its not the physical size that matters, its about microns of filtering that counts. Use the Amsoil filter.

Interesting...I had heard that using a HD filter was important cuz there is and "extra channel" feature...is this true??

The K&N 171C oil filter is what I use. Works well, no issues, easy to remove with a 17mm wrench or socket.

Recently used Amsoil 20W50 MCV oil in all 3 holes. Works.
20W50 oil is equivalent to 90 wt gear oil.
If you want to simplify, just use MCV in all 3 holes.

I've changed quite a few people over from Mobil 1 to AMSOIL because of the cooler running engines. Several BMW riders, a lot of Honda VTX and Wing riders, and several HD riders now. It's in all of my engines now. in my lawn mower, with a Kawasaki engine, when my John Deer dealer changes the oil when they have it over the winter. I leave their oil in it and use it for the first few mows of the new year. I have a hard time pull starting the engine. When I change to AMSOIL, it pulls easy and starts on the first pull. Just an observation.

Default Amsoil filters for Harleys

don't worry about that filter! When they mention other applications, what they're talking about here is to fit other brands of motorcycles. In this case the new filter the only fits Harleys, but also fits BMWs as an example. Don't worry about what's going on inside, and that hasn't changed! These filter still have the spring pressure, to accommodate Harleys oil flow. the product works just fine, it flows oil and filters oil just the way it always has. It just now fits other motorcycles. As far as changing over to Amsoil, there's no reason why you shouldn't. I too use it in virtually everything that I owned except for my law mower.I'm also one of those guys in all my applications, that extend the oil drained times as indicated by Amsoil. In the case of my Harley I do let it go until 10,000 miles! There is an oil filter change at 5000 miles and that gets done, and I've never had a problem dealing with the engine and lubrication.
