Default squeeking front brakes

I put new pads on my 03 Roadking classic, put several hundred miles on them, but they still make noise that drives me crazy. A friend told me to put a bead of RTV sealant on the back of the pads, and lightly sand the rotors. Anybody have any experience with this cure before I try it?

My front brakes squeaked after swapping over to Lyndalls. I pulled the calipers and the pads and cleaned out the brake dust that accumulated around the anti-rattle spring making sure that it moved freely. Reassembled and been riding squeak free ever since.

I also gently file the edges of the pads when I service my brakes. Also a little antisieze on the pad pins. This last time I also used a little of the stuff to quiet disk brakes on the back of the pads because I got a set of Lyndalls that were part of a bad batch that did not cure right.
