Hard to imagine Harley runs 20/50 where others (here) say to run 85-140 weight.

Chuck,
Believe it or not...
The Mobil 1 20-50 V-Twin oil can be used in all 3 holes, too.

Different scale. Keep in mind that 90 weight SAE gear oil is about the same viscosity as 45 weight crankcase oil.

Lucas gear oil. Me too! Makes shifts alot quieter. Last two changes there was no metal dust on the plug like I had with hd gear lube

Ive been using 20w-50 Mobil 1 in all three holes for over a year now. 18,000 miles worth anyhow and no problems yet.

Motor oil in the motor, gear oil in the trans.

Just because you can, doesn't necessarily mean you should.

When I inquired to Lucas Oil Co for their recommendation on HD Tranny oil this was there response:

Thanks for looking to Lucas for your lubrication solutions. Our testing
left company Harley owners voting strongly for Lucas 75W90 Synthetic Gear
Oil in their transmissions along with about 3 to 4oz of Lucas Pure Synthetic
Oil Stabilizer. This blend resulted in smoother shifting, quieter riding
and cooler temperatures in the transmission.

Thanks again,
