True Duals

I have true duals on my 06 EGS and have not noticed any loss of low end torque or HP. I also added a V&H Fuel Pak which I use for the tuning, so maybe that has helped. If your looking for a drag bike, then I guess true duals would not be your choice (maybe a 2 into 1 would) but if your just looking for a "daily driver" or "normal" riding the true duals are the way to go IMO. Good luck with your decision! Bryan

Although there are those that insist in a torque loss with true duals that hasn't been my experience. Have had Rineharts on my '06 SG almost since it was new. Put V&H td,s on the wife's '07 Heritage. The SG is a big bore now making 98 hp. and 102 lbs/ft. but it was dynoed while still at 88" (also had PCIII and Big Sucker) and had more power than stock everywhere, ditto for the softail. Any system you put on your bike will improve it in a way you can actually feel.

Are you just doing the exhaust?
True duals and RH are a good combination. You should gain some mid and upper but lose some low end power. If you want to keep some low end power you need to use a more restrictive muffler. I have a 07 Ultra with SE 64895-07A mufflers, SE AC, and the Vance and Hines fuel Pak. I like the sound (not too loud) and gained power with a much better throttle response. I tried the V&H classic mufflers and it did what I said above then changed to the 64895-07A mufflers and got back a lot of my low end power. Pulls good up to 4,000 RPM's but then starts to fade after that. I never run that high of rpm so it doesn't bother me.
RH do sound good
It was not a problem to tune with the fuel pak but you are limited to what you can do later on. 103 big bore kit and a very limited selection of cams works with the fuel pak

Going from the previous (up to '08) stock exhaust to a dual exhaust you will lose a relative amount of low-end torque in your overall output. It will happen. The torque curve will have a different shape. The reason most folks say they don't notice it is because there's still as much torque there as there was before, but there will be more in other areas than there was before. It's a relative loss, not necessarily a concrete one.
In any event, the programming in your EFI will need to be altered to match the new exhaust system type. It's a bit costly compared to some of the others, but none of them can come close to doing what it can do: my recommendation is the TTS tuner from http://mastertune.net/ (available from some of our forum members).
