Default Heated Grips or Gloves?

I'm getting ready to get heated grips or gloves, but have little experience with ether. What do you guys recommend? If I go the grip route how hard are they to install? Thanks in advance for you input.

I've used both...heated grips kept my palms warm but the rest of my hand stayed icy cold. Heated gloves kept my entire hand warm but they're a little more of a hassle with the wires and all.

Just heated gloves for me now.

You have a few things to consider. Gloves keeps you entire hands warm, but you have wires to connect and disconnect each time you get on the bike. Personally, I have no problem hooking up. Now a friend of mine had me install heated grips for him. He just hates having to remember to hook and unhook. He says his grips work good, but he wishes the tops of his hands were warmer. Going a little beyond just gloves and grips. With the same wiring for the gloves you can also have a heated coat liner and pant liners. I ride in all temperatures and with the gloves and liners, I am very comfortable.

Bluessman pretty much nailed it. The heated gloves (and jacket and/or pants if you choose) work really well and do cover your entire hands. Not sure how easy or difficult the job is to wire the heated grips but it can't be as simple as running the leads off the battery terminals for the heated Clothing (gloves). That's a consideration to look into to help you decide, too.

Plus the heated gloves are about 1/2 the price of heated grips.

I saw an Ultra the other day with pouches(I'm not familiar with the correct name of these things) that are held on with verlcro. He just slid his hands inside the pouches. They looked like they would block the wind and keep the hands warm. Does anyone know the correct name for these things and do they work?
