The sad truth is even if the family retains a lawyer and is successful with a wrongful death suit there may be nothing to recover.

My condolences
BALES, Randy Frank Randal Randy Bales, 50, of Ridgeville, husband of Cindy Ringley Bales died Wednesday morning, October 15, 2008. Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 3 o'clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home Chapel, Summerville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 9 o'clock this evening. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Curtis Bales, Benefit Fund, First Federal of Moncks Corner Bank. Randy was born September 10, 1958 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, son of Carole Lacey Bales of James Island and the late Frankie Bales. He was a graduate of Fort Johnson High School. He was an avid motorcycle rider, member of NRA and a licensed pilot. He was a maintenance mechanic with Global Aeronautical and attended New Journey Community Church. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are one son, Curtis Randal Bales of Ridgeville; two brothers and one sister, Wayne Bales of James Island, Mark Bales of Ravenel and Lorraine Bales of James Island.
