Thanks Bagman, this looks like the way to go for me. Cheaper than the HD part and I don't have to cut anything off. I listed the direct link below. BTW, it's Bitchinbaggers :

You still have to cut the bracket off and drill 4 holes I believe. I spoke with the guy at BB, he said it was an easy fix.

You'rs right, I totally misread that somehow

The fender brackets can be installed on your stock fender. The installation does require cutting off the existing bracket and drilling four holes.

I removed the front bumper, so that isn't an issue. But I was wondering if there is a problem with lowering the fender and using your lower fairings?

Not sure who you're asking but I have no issue with my fender and the lowers. Mine clears throughtout the turn radius even to full lock.

Here is a picture of the one I installed a few days ago it's built by Todd Holland Cycles. It requires drilling the rivets out and replacing the stock mount with a new shorter one, it worked very well.

Like previously stated, you will still end up cutting off your brackets and having to have your fender painted. I think you will end up spending more than the $75+ dollars I spent on lowering my fender. However, you will have a much cleaner professional look than I have....

Good luck!

Thanks for posting those pics greenthumb. I cut the tabs off the brackets and drilled new holes in my heritage fender this weekend. It's the little changes that count...lol.

Did you have to make any spacers to make up the difference of the bracket width to the fender width?

How much clearance do you have between the top of the tire to the fender?

Can you post any close up pictures?

My fender is from Native customs, got it of e-bay for $149. I did that cause I had a dent in my stocker. Anyway you do it, they look good.....

How do you figure you will have to paint the fender after cutting off the bracket? I spoke with Ron at Phoenix customs (Bitchinbaggers) and he said there is no painting, besides sealing the bare metal after making the cut.
