4000 miles in a week
Rode from Atlanta to the Grand Canyon in seven days and had a great time. I was going on to Ca but weather made me decide to return early. I can't wait to do it again and I saw many dressers coming and going too.
I love this Electra Glide Cassic and she ran perfect. I camped out every night and was able to carry all I needed.
The Canyon is truly a site to see. Anyone that hasn't seen it must! Also the terrain you see going west is spectacular.
Met the nicest people and have many stories and memories that I will never forget. You must do something like this with your dresser as that is what she is made for.
See all ya on the road... Tim

Wow, that one heck of a ride. Very envious of you.
Wife and I have been traveling our beautiful country but not on two wheels (can't get her on the back of the bike). This country we have here is unbelievable. Why anyone wants to go somewhere else before they see the U.S.A. is beyond me.
Glad you had a great time........

Damn straight. Did two 4000-mile trips in two separate weeks of vacation. What's so laughable is that I managed to do it during two separate heat waves here in Ontario. Went out to eastern Canada and back through New England. 8,000 miles - one week in July, the other in August, and NOT ONE DROP OF RAIN.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Who the hell rides to eastern Canada and never gets wet? For the first time in 8 years, I got to see what it looks like DRY.

Thanks for the kind responses. To answer a few of the questions you all had. Yes and no did I take the back roads. I rode mostly on the freeway however the cut accross Texas I made in to New Mexico on 84 was a good indication of what they always say. Take those side roads so you can really see America and meet the best people as well as finding the best places to eat. Next time I will and ride the back hwy's and byway's the most and very little freeway. This trip I just wanted to get there (Grand Canyon) and see it.
On pics I did take a lot of the canyon but don't know how to post. Sorry. Besides it wouldn't do any justice as you really have to see it to see it. ha!
I do want to go again and see a place called Sedona in Az.
Camping was so easy just pull into any RV park and they let tent campers camp too. Only 15-20 dollars per night and they have showers laundry etc. It was great. I rode arround 400-450 miles per day and around 72mph.
I'm going again in the spring. I don't think I would want to be anywhere out there in the summer as it can be very hot even at night so camping would not be comfortable. I planed this one just perfect.
Gas is very cheap going accross the country now at least in comparison to Ga. Also 93 octaine is not available in most of the states I went through. 90 and sometimes 91 was the highest I could find. Someone told me it had to do with the altitude.?????????? Not sure about that but it sounded crazy enough to be true. However the bike ran pretty good on the lower octaine.
My first post was short and sweet because I didn't want to bore anyone but since some asked for more details I wrote a little more.
There is a Grand Canyon Harley Davidson dealer in the Flagstaff area and I did pick up a tee shirt and a pin. ha!
Oh yea, those great big wind machines were everywhere (so huge!) and you could see them from miles away.
More........... ha! I saw trains a mile long everywhere in the desert and one was carring nothing but military stuff like tanks and jeeps all painted and ready to go to war. That train truly had some stuff worth billions of dollars on it.
Well that's about it.. some things are just so special that no words could explain as they are in my mind and heart with great appreciation of this great country we have, as one posted earlier we don't have to go over sea's to see great things, we have them right here in the ol US OF A.
thanks, Tim
