Just put on 21 Front/18 Rear - two questions
I picked up a heck of a deal on a set of Performance Machine contrast cut wheels and rotors for my '08 Street Glide. I have a 21" front wheel and 18" rear wheel. I've riding for about a week now, and notice some handling changes, but nothing too unreasonable.
Question #1:
I am trying to figure out how far the bike will lean without endangering me in a turn. Before I put the wheels on, you could judge the lean limit of the bike with the floorboard scraping. How do I know what my lean limit is now? If I lean her over too far, will I lose traction before I scrape the floorboards?
Question #2:
Since I bought these rims and tires on consignment I don't have the factory info on them. They are Metzler tires and I was trying to find the recommended tire pressure on them. The front is 120/80-21, I think the rear is 140-18 (I'll have to pull the saddlebags off to double check). The tech who installed them told me to put the front at 42psi (this is the max listed on the sidewall), and 50psi in the rear (this seems really high to me in the rear, and is out of range on everything I've been able to find on Metzler's site. Any help/thoughts?

I'm running the same combo myself with Metzelers.
For Q #1- you will come nowhere near the lean limits of the tires. I scrape my boards regularly and still have a good 1/2" chicken strip on each side of the rear.
For Q#2, see this link for full details on the Metzelers.
Metzelers like max pressures to wear correctly. Run 40-42 up front and 48-50 out back...
Oh, see page 7 in the spec brochure below...

running this combo as you already know> the bike will set up higher. just got mine back down from the lift after a 1" drop front & back , i was`nt sure if this would be enough, but i find that it made all the difference with a better feel overall. here`s a before & after not sure if you can really see a difference in hight. but you can tell when rideing. congrat`s on the new setup. post some pic`s when your done.
