Wife has her own bike so we don't ride 2 up very often. When we do she is an awesome passenger but she's always eager to get off the bike when needed. Im not sure she's comfortable being on the bike but not in control. Anyway better safe than sorry and if you don't feel safe then you may end up sorry.

Thumbs down gravel

We live down 1/4 mile gravel road. I ride on it each time I leave the house, its first gear fast enough to stay smooth and slow enough not to get hurt if I drop it. Too slow is as bad as too fast I've tried both. My wife rides with me and she doesn't move until we are on pavement. We ride on it so much that she usually stays on in parking lots unless its deep and loose then off she goes until I'm parked. Gravel sucks unless you are on a dirt bike.

Maybe so, maybe no. It all depends on the situation at the time and place. But I don't feel that I have anything to prove, if ya know what I mean.

Most times my wife does not want to be on the bike in gravel so she just gets off. Gravel is great fun on a dirt bike. Man, just crack the throttle and go faster when in doubt! But, on an EG I'm not very confident to be honest. That's probably why she wants to get off. Doesn't hurt my ego.

So far I've been able to keep my passanger on. I just use friction zone in first gear.

I usually just leave my wife on when parking or backing up. She does her job and doesn't move, and I'm pretty stong in the legs so it's never a big effort for me.

No. Maybe I haven't seen the kind of gravel your talking about.

Default No never

My wife gets down on the ground and I ride over her. My bike never touches gravel!

straight ahead, she can stay on, turning slow or backing I usually ask her to dismount. No sense taking chances.

Every situation is different. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Bottom line is Do you feel comfortable. I've even had her climb off on dry pavement before if I'm backing at an odd angle, on a hill, loose gravel, etc... Just depends on if I feel confident enough with a passenger on. I'd much rather have her climb off ANYWHERE than have her help me pick up the bike!
