Default Brake Lights Stuck On......

O.k., I changed grips the other day. I know I was supposed to jam some cardboard or something in between the brake lever and the housing. Now my brake lights are permanently on. How do I get that fixed....I think there is a plunger in there, but how do I reset it? 05' king. thanks

Yep, sounds like you broke it. Go get a new one from the dealer and get out your soldering gun.

this is the second set I have changed on this bike, I changed 2 others on my older road king, and never had this problem????? I saw the picture in the manual, and didn't really understand why I would have to put that in there.......there goes the not smart thing!!! It can't be fixed, without buying a new part??? Crap....oh well.....Live and Learn....Thanks

I would loosen them up and then make sure you have it lined up and the two, swithch housing and clamp are snug against each other. You can check to see if the plunger is working when you have the clamp loose.

that plunger switch is held in place by a spring, try working it down into the housing. it might have come unseated.

Take the brake lever off and with your finger press the plunger in and see if the light goes off. If not, then its broke. if it does go off, take some self addesive felt and stick it to the lever. That insures that the plunger goes in all the way. It may take a couple of pieces of felt to get the correct thickness.

Default tail lights staying on

you probably did not hear it or see it fall but you broke the end of the switch off, harley has a replacement switch for @25.00 but you have to cut and splice it in, also you have to be careful on pulling the wires through good luck ricky
