Question MPG What are you getting?

With Harley listing all the V-Twins at 54 MPG I was skeptical.

I picked up my 2009 Ultra Saturday.
Dealer said he filled it up, gauge indicated full.
Rode a little and the next day had to fill up with 134 miles on the odometer.
Took a little over 4 gallons for about 32.4 MPG.
I realize I'm breaking it in and staying between 2,000 and 3,999 RPM, but is this what you guys are getting?

I was really hoping for about 45 MPG.
Am I out of line?

Especially with Harley's "Don't buy a Harley because it gets over 50 MPG" advertising campaign...
Is there any truth in advertising

Photos to follow....

Same results and question here. I'm on my 4th fill up now and stuck at 32 mpg.

I normally ride solo, and if Im a good boy off the throttle I get 40.

Its just hard to stay off the gas, so I usually end up with 37 or so.

wkenddad,Man don't get down about that,I have a 01 FLHT,CV Carburetor,it was listed at 46 on the highway, never got it,not even close, but I had some problem's from the factory, now after much work,I can get 41,but you have to ride it really careful(no fun) to get that.I was looking at the fuel advertisement on the new Harley's,and it would surprise everyone to know how they get those number's.You can tell your dealership about it,and they may can do some adjusting on your injection, but wait till you get some miles first it'll in all probability, get better, but if it doesn't,or get's worse tell them for sure.

I get between 150-180 on a tank depending on how I'm driving. But when I fill up, it only holds 4.5 gal. so based off that fact ,I'm doing good. Besides I don't even remember when I bought the last tank, so that's good mileage to me.

+1 54 MPG, now that's funny. Maybe downhill in neutral with a good tail wind ..............
My RK, anywhere from 34-42 depending on how hard I run it. I don't check it very often, once in a while for a sanity check to make sure she seems to be running ok and getting what she should. Never owned a Harley to try to be fuel efficient, ain't going to start now. The cost of fuel is way less than a therapist ............ Not sure where folks get the info all V-Twins at Harley get 54 MPG. The signs I see mention the 883 in small print ...........
