I average around 42MPG pretty consistently, stock 2008 EGS and I ride like a Geezer.

Yeah 54 is not likely unless you're coasting downhill out of the Rockies in 6th gear at 55 mph. More normal MPG to expect is 38-45. Alot depends on your riding style, etc.

I get 35-37 with my Stage II 95" motor. I know that's apples to oranges for your stock bike but mine won't do better than that. Here in the mtns where I live that's it.

I'm right at my 1,000 mile mark and been getting about 42/43 mpg. Friend of mined did the same until he changed over to synthetics and has bumped up to about 45.

I realize the reason for the question and I was just as curious as to what others were getting....but I didn't buy it for the gas mileage.

From the Electra Glide Specification sheet:

Miles per Gallon (5)
ESPFI 54 hwy / 35 city

(5) Estimated from fuel economy tests on a sample motorcycle from the corresponding family conducted by Harley-Davidson under ideal laboratory conditions. Not all motorcycle models undergo fuel economy testing. Fuel economy and mileage may vary among motorcycle models within a family. Your mileage may vary depending on your personal riding habits, weather conditions, trip length, vehicle condition and vehicle configuration and other conditions. Break-in mileage may vary.

It looks like mileage figures are all over the place. My '04 RK, EFI Stage 1 with slipons runs mid to high 40's, and it's not ridden like my grandfather was driving. Low to mid 40's when it's really run open, still not too bad. Like everyone else, I didn't buy it for the mileage, that's just a nice little benefit.
