MPG What are you getting?
#121
back and forth to work about 34 mpg running 65 ~ 80 mph
last run down to Dallas into a head wind at 85 mph I got 27mpg...
best so far was 43 mpg just cruising the hills and sweepers 2 up.
6th gear sucks fuel on my '08...i consistently get better mileage running higher RPM in 5th gear. I don't even use 6th unless I'm running straight and level ( or down hill) 80mph and even then it falls out of the power band. At 2700 rpm this fat hog doesn't have enough power to get out of its own way in 6th gear.

Holding at 41-45
I ride to work about 3 times a week and do a lot of stop and go..holding at 41mpg..When I get on the interstate running around 75 it jumps up to as high as 45...Chevron fuel seems to give me my best Mpg...During the summer it falls off a bit during the hot days, in the fall and winter it goes back up...?

Gas Mileage
My gas mileage varies widely depending on how I ride: 32-33 riding hard, a few 100+mph runs, accelerating hard stop to stop. If I ride that same route [back and forth to work, all back roads and two-lane 'country' highways] staying closer to the speed limits and accelerating more gently, I get as high as 46. Bike is an 02 Road King with 95" kit, S&S 510G cams, Ness Big Sucker Stage II air cleaner, PC III usb and Thunderheader slip-ons. All the above is without the window. If I have the window on and take a road trip with the wife [she rides her own, but riding with her means riding much more conservatively] I avg. 42, also heavily loaded. Window on, loaded and highway over 75mph, back into the 30's. I also deliberately tuned my bike as lean as possible and stilll run well lower than 3000 rpm and 20% throttle using the PC III and my laptop. Get up over the 3000 mark, the added fuel percentages go way up, and along with it the power! It really is all about the throttle/fun factor. Forgot to mention: bike has 57k on it.

mpg
Riding an '05 FLHPI with nothing done to the motor except true duals I get about 42 in town and about 48 hwy. I'm a geezer and don't get on it real hard. I use H-D fluids. It doesn't seem to make a difference if I am solo with no tour pak or two up and loaded. 21000 miles and it has stayed consistent since I bought it new. I love my machine. My 2000 Buell S3T gets 50-53 all the time riding like the geezer I am, and about 10-15 if I play hard.

milage
I've got an "old" 2008 classic, but it has given me what I feel is good milage. I get 42 mpg consistintly, except when I hook up and pull our camper trailer, then it drops to around 37 mpg.
Don't think I'll be traiding up to a "new and improved" later model any time soon, especialy if they are getting crappy milage.
