+1 on the Carhartt Flannel lined jeans, warm and hold up well in the rain.

Thumbs up "wrap-chaps" or "knee-necks" help alot

Take a look at "wrap-chaps" or "knee-necks" to keep your legs warm. I got a pair of wrap-chaps at Lk. Geo several years ago and have been real happy (and warm) with them. They don't offer much in the way of abrasion protection.

I use chaps, easy on easy off !
Military Surplus stores carry the soldiers version of Pantyhose. Lightweight, and works great, and non-embarassing.

Although I use my chaps and leather jacket mostly, down to 30 degrees, I use the first gear snow suit. It is 1 piece and will keep you warm. It fits much better than the lose carharts and is not as bulky.
