Street Glide for me,better wind protection for my hands behind the fairing not up over the fairing. I like the look of the low windshield on the Street Glide, the wind hits at the lower edge of my helmet, with the short windshield on the Road Glide wind hits me right in the chest and that takes the fun out of touring.

Road Glide all the way.

I hated the fairing on the Road Glide for the longest time (years), but after riding a couple back to back with a Bat Wing, there is no comparison.

Road Glide cuts the wind waaay better
Road Glide has more ground clearance = greater lean angle
Road Glide is roomier when you are in the saddle
It looks a little more modern than the traditional Bat Wing.

That said, your initial opinion of the fairing from a looks stand point (standing curbside or sitting on the bike) will change the more you look at it. Everyone hates the RG fairing when they first see it, then over time, most warm to it, if not prefer it.

why did you buy your model and not the other ?
Is there big differences between these two bikes ?
They both look like AWESOME machines, I'm just trying to justify buying one over the other, advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks for you input!

get the one that, once you park it and start to walk away, you gotta turn around for one last look... thats the one you should be riding.

My grandma always taught me that "If you don't have anything nice to say, then shut the f*#k up".

With that said, I totally love the look of the Batwing! Go with the SG.

If some tells you it looks Jap just start it up they'll change their mind
I've been on both. Street rides low and looks cool but 350 miles and eight hours of riding here and there, the wife still isn't ready to come home..So I'll stick with the RG.

Eight pages long taking notes on what shield, seat and so forth to put on that 09 Road Glide when the time comes. I just have to wait till May or June to trade.
I just love it when someone starts one of these threads about that Ugly RG. I can't wait to buy my RG.
So with that said if you want Cool get the SG.........If you want to ride for miles and miles at a time get the RG.
For me I tour the Southeast on three day weekends.
