I had a FXRT I beleive it was about ten years ago...couldn't get used to the fixed fairing....it really bugged me. So I went with the Street Glide this time and I like it good ! Roadglide is a nice bike if that is what you want! Simple as that

Every bike on the road, whether a RG or a crotch rocket, wishes it was as badass as my SG. For sure, fools!

If you have to ask you wouldn't understand. Don't get the road glide, nobody who owns them likes them.

I have an 08 SG and a buddy has an 08 RG. He is a big boy and doesn't look awkward on the RG but that fairing is just plain big and butt ugly to me so that's why I went with the SG. I think as far as a touring bike that the RG is probably better but I just couldn't get used to the (did I say big) fairing always pointing in one direction even if I'm turning the bike. It just comes down to the fairing and weather you like the look or don't. Other than personal taste, nothing else really is outstanding on either bike.

I have a SG & my buddy has a RG I believe they are both bad a$$ and can be fixed up in different ways to suit your style. It comes down to your persoanl style they are both nice in my book. But then that is comming from a guy with four harleys because I like them all! LOL!!

When I decided to move on from my well-loved '04 RK Custom I test rode the SG, EG, and RG... back and forth, numerous times. I had also rented an '09 EG Classic. The sales guy was great in letting me go back and forth comparing. I'm 6'1" 180 lbs.

There was no question whatsoever, the Road Glide was obviously the clear winner for me. Very spacious/roomy feeling (not closed in - the bats on the SG and EG felt a little confining/claustrophobic to me). The Road Glide felt open and liberating!

On the road the stability of the Road Glide was obviously superior. And now that I have over 2000 miles on my 2010 FLTRX I have confirmed my choice... incredible comfort and stability. High speed stability wonderful. Long range comfort superb. Both my wife and I find that this bike can gobble miles voraciously with effortless ease.

This is my third Harley ('04 Low Rider, '04 Road King Custom, '10 Road Glide Custom) and I've ridden and rented a number of others. Now, having the pick of any bike in Harley's line up - there's only one I would prefer over all the others... the Road Glide! And not just for the superior ride and features... they look so awesome too! I wouldn't trade this bike for anything else.
