I have no problems with the batwing on my SG. No buffeting. I did switch the windshield and the seat. I have ridden lots of long days. Interstates, tractor trailors, and high crosswinds have never been a problem. I ride fairly fast. I can hang with my sportbike buddies to about 120 then the SG hits the wall. The bike handles great. If you can't handle touring on this bike you shouldn't be touring.
That said, I think a blacked out denim black RG with the klockwerks shield looks smokin hot. I also like the orange SE RG.
I would rent both and put at least 300 - 500 miles in a day on both. Get out on the interstate and then take it through some twisties. You may want to see if you can rent each with a better windshield. They both suck.
The only way I ride my SG with the short shield is without a helmet and with goggles. I have an 8" shield that I use most of the time.

Love my Road Glide.... nobodies mentioned the glove boxes on the RG, or the speakers wired for tour pack. Road glide has floorboards for passenger where the Street glide had pegs. Agree with lower windshield, made a lot of difference. I thought mine was too big of a bike for me when I first got it.... now I can't see myself on anything smaller. Better lighting. Great bike in my view.

o7 Roadie. Certainly NOT ugly! Turns alot of heads; mirage Orange, HD flame accessories all over, Samson pipes; I love it, I'm too inseamed challenged for an Ultra Classic, I can sit flat footed. High winds not a problem, looking to change windshield as aftermkts look better. It's a great ride!
