I put Heritage bars on my 07 RK about a year ago. Before the change, I could only ride about 40 minutes before I had pain between my shoulder blades. Now I can ride all day. It took me about an hour and a half. I picked up the take off bars from a local indy.

Just picked up these bars (56902-08) myself & can't wait to put them on after what I've read on here from others. I'll post some pics after they're installed...
Update: Got these baby's installed today...charged me 1.5 hrs ($120) labor to do 'em. All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first reaction when I first sat on the bike was "Wow, I didn't think they'd be THIS high...kinda like having mini-apes." Went out on a 2-hr ride today just to get used to 'em & quickly fell in love! They kinda get you thinking about doing larger-sized apes because you just now love having your hands up high. Anyway, they're really awesome, COMFORTABLE bars! I'll post some pics soon.

Thumbs up

After long time looking found those bars at Capital City HD. Great price, fast shipping. Got them last week. Finnally got them installed today. Took me hour and 45 minutes. Could be a bit less if had some manual
Unfortunatelly did not have a chance to ride due to weather
But even just sitting on a bike feels more comfortable. No more leanig forward to reach the bars.

Job took me about 4 hrs. ( shop wanted 5 hrs labor) taking my time and requires no cable or wire changes. Pulls the bars back about 2" - 3" and up an inch or so by the feel of it. If you are considering heritage bars you will not be dissapointed..
Changed my '08 RK bars out with the same one's, they are more comfortable but I wish they came back one more inch but overall much better than stock.

I got those 56902 bars coming in, too. Gonna try to take the left grip off and use it again. Anybody done that?

My '02 RK Std. had Beach style bars on when I got it but I found they were too wide and not high enough although tight turns weren't really an issue. Had those changed last year to (what I was told) Custom bars which were a bit higher, narrower and decent pullback. Only problem is they are kinda awkward when doing tight turns as opposed to he beach bars.

I've read positive reviews also on the Heritage bars so that's what will be going on this spring, should clear-up the tight turn issue I have with the Custom bars.

The 09 Heritage bar is different. It's not the swept back bars like the Police Bikes have. The 09 Heritage has the bars from a Softail Custom or a Dyna Wide Glide . . . the Harley Mini Ape version. Either way would be an improvement over what comes stock on a RoadKing. What are they thinking? They probably sell more Roadkings if they were comfortable for people under 6'5".
