Actually, a second party representing HD receives the check in Chicago. Someone there signed for it and it was never heard from again. The check never cleared. Ohio has a state law which states you must wait 90 days from when the check was first issued to when it can be replaced. I am slamming HD because THEY lost my $20,000 check.

Harley Credit will give you up to 84months and a lower rate. Most banks or CU want come close to those terms. I have had two Harley Fin with them and all I did is sign and ride too. Curently I have a 08 Fin for 84 months and a rate of 8.75

Used them twice ,this year i got credit for 1.5% and yes its a durcell loan .I could of brought it cash but anything over 10 grand they have to report it,so i borrowed 12 grand from HD for three years at a cost of $150.00 which is a bargin or like free money.I should of financed the whole amount at that rate,if the economy tanks any further i think that rate will return.Next spring would be a good time to buy i think as thats 4 to 5 months more of a down market,HD could offer 1/2 % buy then.

Bringing this thread back to life. I am thinking - well my wife thinks I am thinking...I have decided - about buying a new Fat Boy. I have searched the forums and haven't seen anything recent. Does anyone know what the present rates from EM are?

Local Credit Union is 6.1% for 60 months.

Does HD credit work like most other dealer credit offerings in that the local dealership is allowed to "sale the credit" at an interest rate higher than what HD credit actually charges? I dealt with this problem thru Ford Motor Credit. The dealer quoted me 9.9% and when I contacted FMC directly they gave me a rate of 3.9%. Might be something to consider.
