Is that the norm? Are you guys getting more songs then me on a disk? I can say I've had no problems with volume, skipping or static whatsoever though. Good quality burns and just leave the CD loaded in the player. I constantly listen to music while riding.
You should be getting at least 130 songs per CD normally. It sounds like iTunes is burning it at a higher rate (standard is 128bits/sec, you might be at 192 or 256). I haven't tried to burn thru iTunes yet (I use another CD/DVD writer program).

128 bits is what you get from a standard, store-bought CD btw. Anything higher than that - especially on a bike at speed! - is just a waste of space on the CD!!

Nano's have solid state memory as do the shuffles. The larger IPods have hard drives....moving parts that don't do well with vibration. Lockups and actual failures are not uncommon when you use these on motorcycles. The Nanos are much better suited to the environment.

I run a two into one cable that I keep plugged into the aux port, that way I can plug two things into it, and I don't wear the plug out on the radio by plugging in and out all the time. It's perfect for an i-pod nano and running a gps at the same time.

Same here..now if I can get off my lazy a$$ and make a "Riding" Playlist instead of shuffling through 1400 songs I would be good

For all you using external MP3 players (Ipod, Zumo, etc.), it's worth the $5 cost to use a right-angle cable. That way the connector and cable tuck neatly against the head unit and also its source. These 3.5mm cables can be found on Ebay. I have the Zumo mounted on the left handlebar and a 3' cable is not quite long enough, so I'm using a 6-footer.

That's pretty slick! Where did you get the 90 from?

I saw something similar that another member had done and had an electronics guy modify it to the way I wanted to use it. He did it for $20 and I was happy. I believe he said the 90 was from a headphone.

I like the handlebar controls for the cd player too much. I burn CDs for 50 cents each on the default itunes settings, no problems skipping- get about 120 songs.
