A CB ant. has to be tuned for the particular radio its plugged into. Each and every CB radio has to be matched to its ant. If not you will burn it up, that simple. The SWR meter is plugged in between the radio and ant. You want the lowest reading you can get by either shortening or lengthening the ant. How you shorten or lengthen the ant. depends on what type of ant you have. If you've never done this before I suggest taking it to a CB shop. But mind you they have to get to the rear of radio to do this. I hope this has helped.

the 09 fiber glass antenna does not use the loading coil so you have to by the pig tail
from harley that has a ground on it to replace the loading coil. the 09 cb antenna is
not available untill oct 31. you can get the radio am- fm now. I know this because
I have priced them out and talked to the head person in parts at Santa Cruze H D
the pigtail is part#76294-00 and is$ 23:50 the am fm antenna #76503-08 is $19:90
