There is a little more than just the two bolts and wires. You have to unbolt the exhaust support, remove the primary cover and unbolt the bolt on the end of the starter drive. When you remove the starter drive pay particular attention to where everything came out of, which order, and what direction the coupler was, as it will go in either way, but will only work one way. Hope this helps.
P.S. Check out the prices on the Ultima starters. You can save some good money there!!!
Not on his 07. I watched the dealer swap mine out during a trouble shooting session. 45 minutes max to take the old one off and put the new one in, test it, then take the new one back out and replace the old one.
Although you said the battery was replaced, are you sure all the cable connections are good? (voltage drop test). Sometimes where the cable goes in the lug gets corroded and wont allow full voltage to the starter. Just a thought.
kinda good news bad news, yes its that easy to R&R. BUT they sold me the wrong one. didnt look right (no nose cone or drive) just a spline. but took it off anyway thinkin i may have to reuse some/transfer a part but nope. and ill bet ther right starter aint the same price. another 200 mile round trip. crap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
