Default Electrical power shuts off

I have an 03 Road Glide. Twice on my way to Street Vibrations the electrical power shut off. Everything went dead. The stereo, lights and ignition. The power ouyage only lasts about 15 seconds then everything returns to normal. Ecxpet I have to reprogram the stereo pre-sets. I thought it may be heat related because it was 90 degrees in stop and go traffic. But it did it one more time on the way home in 75 degree weather. Again, no power for about 15 sec then everything came back.

Thanks.

Friend of mine has had his ignition switch on the tank get water into the contacts and it got hot internally and melted the plastic of the attached contacts and everything shut down. This happened to him a couple times then it lost all power.

Maybe worth a check see!

I have checked both battery connections and wire. All seem to be in good condition. Im leaning towards some type of relay. mainly because of the amount of time its down. Again it last about 15 seconds. With me doing nothing other then waiting.
thanks for your help.

I will bet your main breaker is overheating and popping open. A very common problem. The terminals on the main breaker start to develop some resistance where they are crimped onto the wire and this resistance will generate heat. The extra heat wicks into the breaker and causes it to pop prematurely. Install a new 50A main breaker, chop off the old terminals and *solder* new terminals on.

+1 on that. It sounds exactly like a breaker tripping off and resetting to me also.
