Sitting astride an RG is sweet. I love the white gauges (and the fact they're not in my face). I'm 6'4" and it seems like there is quite a bit more room (how is that?). However, my wife says it's ugly no matter what I say so I'm getting a traditional HD. If it comes down to not getting the "best" Harley but still getting a great "Harley", I win even by losing!

My RG does have a beautiful still air pocket. Unfortunately it's about a foot too far forward to be of any use. I find the buffetting (a sharp, staccato head shaking) to be objectionable and even painful at times and am still looking for a solution. I love the bike in all other regards such as performance in cross winds etc. but I think HD needs to redesign the RG fairing to bring the pocket farther back. Not sure I'd buy another one until they do. My 2 cents.

I noticed a big improvement when I went to the Clearview. I have the medium which is +1 over stock. I'm 5'10" and use a backrest so I sit up pretty straight. the CV is a made of a much thicker material than the HD plus it is not a coated material like the HD. Any scratches can be polished out.
