tsfxstider, I have been riding for 45 years and the first and only bike I dropped was a 1965 750 Norton Atlas and that was right after I took delivery of it. It had less than 20 miles on it. Luckily it was on the side of the road and we(it) landed in soft grass. I have since owned approx 20 bikes of all makes. the last 4 of which were Harley'.s
How long you been riding?

OK here is my take for all ya riders who are experienced or not. you can always hit oil, antifreeze, gravel or leaves and ain't nuthen going to stop you from going down, once ya do go down without crashbars your leg might get pinned by the bike plus your bike can get more messed up. I looked cool without em for awhile BUT I like having my pegs on them and would rather be safe then sorry even tho my bike looks cooler without em on.

Dropped mine twice - both with the disc lock on - STUPID!
Absolutely no damage.
I've been riding forever and fell alot - mostly dirt bike falls.
All I can say is IF it goes down at a standstill or very slow speed without crashbars
you'll be real sorry when you go to the dealer and pay big $$$$ for replacement parts with scratches and cracks.
I have to admit they look a whole lot better without bars - but I don't have enough money for repairs!

Besides the protection factor, I like the way the bars look, makes the bike look a little bigger and meaner. Helps to visually balance my bike, front doesn't look quite as skinny when compared to her fat-***. place to put highway pegs for the long rides, and removable lowers if the weather turns to crap.
