size of apes?

I agree ! I just put Wild1 14" Chubby's on my 07 RKC last week. Very comfortable for me at 6'1". i have a Sundowner seat and the bars are about 3" or so below my shoulders. My son is 5'9" and they hit him right at the shoulder. In my opinion 16" may be too tall for you. If you are going for looks , the diff. between 14" & 16" is not too noticeable

"Ya gotz ta try 'em before ya buyz 'em"!
Go to a dealer and have 'em hold a pair of whatever size bars on your bike. Or better maybe you have a buddy who'll let you sit on his bike with apes.
When you get ready to install maybe this thing I put together when doing my apes will come in handy:

I like the looks of the 16's better. I'm worried about riding out of state and getting hassled for bar hight. In case I have a cocktail or two. By the looks of alot of the photos of everyones bikes. If I would align 16's with the down tubes, i think I would be ok. For those that have their bars straight up, is that more comfortable or is it for the looks? The bars I want are only available in 12 or 16. I haven't seen a bike on here with the brand I'm looking at. They are made by Road 6 customs and sell on ebay. But the photos on ebay, are on a lowrider or a sporty. And they look really tall to me. Maybe I should go with the 12's and be safe. I sat on a RK with 18's pulled back a bit and they were a little higher than I would like. I just don't want to buy cables, bars and have regrets.

I want to install a set of ape hangers on my RK. But I'm not sure as to what size to get. I want either 12 or 16 inch apes. I'm 5'9, not the tallest guy. I have to reach for the factory bars and they are too low. I plan to align the bars with the front end. I'm hoping that with the taller bars, they will come back to me more. Also don't want hands, above my shoulders. I want alot I know. Any thoughts or experience. Thanks.

I have 16s on my RK and love them at 6' 3". The thing to think about though, I have a buddy who is around 5' 10" that rides the bike once in a while and the bars are above his shoulder height. He does fine riding it, but if the wrong cop saw him, he would be bought and paid for. JMHO, but if I were you, I would really consider the 12" bars for the same reason.

Get the 16". You will not regret it. I bought the 12.5 apehangers before I bought the 16" apehangers and they were to small.
The 16" are comfortable and they look good.
This is the guy that I purchased my apehangers from. His name is Johnny Vaughn, he is a First Class dude. His prices are fair and he specializes in apehangers!

Now get the 16" bars and send us a picture!
