Handlebar mounted speakers for RK...????
Does anyone know where I can find small chrome speakers (maybe 2") that connect to an Ipod or XM type player for my RK?
I saw these during BikeWeek at MB but can't seem to find them on the net or anywhere else. They had decent sound and didn't clutter up the bars.

Just researched this for a good buddy of mine. We went with the kick *** setup from these guys.
http://www.uniqcycle.com/
it comes with a 150 watt mini amp comatable with an IPOD and (2) 80 Watt speakers, speakers are handlebar mounted and come in black or chome, deep or shallow housings depending on how much real estate you have up front to work with.
To power the IPOD there are basically 3 ways to go.
1. Use the IPOD battery and deal with the limited time the battery proivides.
2. Use a external battery pack (uses 4 aa batteries that last for 20 hours at a clip) easy to store on the bike and easy to replace when out on the road.
3. Use (modify) a cigarette lighter / IPOD power cable and tie it into the accessory circuit on the bike.
I did the install for my buddy. it is all straightforward and does not require an eleectrical engineers degree, the guys offer phone tech support and know what they are doing. My buddy runs a full windshield. Around town and up to 60, the tunes complely kick ***. Out on the highway from 70 to 80 the wind is loud and it is no better than the crappy stock system that comes from HD. (I'm running a pioneer deck, IPOD, amp and (4) 80 Watt speakers that I custom mounted into the fairing of my old skoot to solve that f*ckin problem.

Just posted this in another thread... including some of the ones already posted...
Here are some links to get started, that I've been researching myself:
Links page for tunes on a RK: http://www.mmi.org/merrington/radio.html
That link includes links to *some* of the fairing companies, and some of which you can get empty and talk to the firecap guy in the above post, still learning about his products, I don't know yet if he has a hook up for fairings or if you have to get your own fairing. It also includes links to some of the bolt on sound options, w/out the need for fairings or windshields.
UniqCycle - One of the more affordable bolt on speaker/amp systems for ipods/satellite:

Cycle Sounds - Smaller bullet speakers:

Loud Lids - speakers in bags, etc.:

Another well known product from J&M:

Hope that helps.
