I am glad you are ok. When the stem core let go, did it blow the cap off the stem?

I can't say for certain, but I think the cap was on there when I left the shop. It wasn't on there when I stopped...

I had a set of the chromed plastic piston caps on it.

That is some crazy chit there bud...as everyone else, just glad everyone was able to walk away from that.

I asked because I have had to go back to tire shops in the past to reclaim a chrome cap for one of my tires more than once. Sometimes, they just forget to recap the things..

I know that I looked at the rear tire, but I can't say for certain on the front. I think I did because, like you said, the last shop left them off. If he did put it on, he didn't tighten it either....

I had a rear tire go down once when I ran over a piece of angle iron. It was scary till I got it stopped. I can't imagine what a front would feel like. Good job on your part, glad you came out O.K.

Im sure glad you are allright, but I tell ya, as someone mentioned earlier some of these kids working on these bikes have no idea nor the pride of doing good work anymore, its all about the money and how many tires the dealer can push them to change every day. As an aircraft tech i do all work myself all you need is a good manual for your bike, and no one can do a better job than you can, and with the diligence you WILL do it with. again glad your ok,surely an im sorry from that dealer would not be enough if something would have happened.
