07 RKC 12,500 miles. Love the bike. Only problem was a seeping of oil where the engine case and primary case join. Fixed under warranty.

I have my classic for exactly one year, 10,000 miles and had the starter and clutch basket go @ 4,500 miles all covered under warranty back on the road by the end of the day! All else it is a great machine would not trade, best harley I've had out of 7 harleys

GUMBY - Inquiry about the IDS . . .

Independent Drive System. Search the forum under IDS and you will see numerous posts. It was installed after 07 to quiet the 5th gear transmission noise. The 07 owners have to purchase the part. MOCO did not issue a recall nor is it covered as a warranty item.

At around 10,000 mi. had a fairing bracket failure. Replaced under warranty. Also had the HK stereo develop a seal failure. It was also replaced under warranty with a new unit. At around 10,005 mi. had a saddlebag spring break. Replaced under warranty. Next, had some funky vibrations. Turned out to be the tires cupping. Also had the rear brake rotor warped. All but the tires replaced under warranty. Now, about 8,000 mi. later, I have a broken saddlebag spring again and the ambient temp gauge bulb is out. Will get saddlebag spring replaced under warranty and replacing ambient temp gauge replaced with an oil temp gauge. Also, looks like I have another HK stereo seal failure so I'm going to be getting it replaced again as well.

This is my primary transportation so I ride year round. Riding and repairing...guess that's going to be my life till I get an 2012 Street Glide. I'm going to force myself...actually, the economy is forcing me...to hold on to my beast for at least 5 years. I'm looking forward to buying my next bike with cash! ...ok, I might need to hold on to it a little longer if the markets refuse to come around before my prime stock are reduced to ashes from the fire I must burn to keep warm.

Bike is doing well but I did make changes to solve my problems. I added IDS to solve the can o marbles. Fuel processor to cool it down. Pipes and an air filter to let it breath. Its a great bike after adjustments.

Never purchased any motor vehicle that didn't require some "home re-engineering" :-)
If I read this right you moved the top trunk back. The wife has real issues on how close and up right the rear seat is. So does this mean it can be moved back more? It is already on the last of the two factory positions.
