Brake arm cotter pin removal...
#11
Well thanks again everyone, it looks like the WD40 settled in overnight and the braking action from my riding today helped as well.
I went out tonight, sprayed a little more WD40, drank a beer then got to work. I used a small screwdriver and a rubber mallet. Stuck the screwdriver under the cotter pin head flange and tapped it a little. This time it moved some, so I broke out the vice grips and put pressure on the pin end closest to the motor and the m/c shaft and it came out!
20 mins with a pre game beer, not bad at all. I can't beleive how much more room you gain just by using a stock arm from the '03 and later touring line

Next mission is to swap out the shift linkage. Lets see how much I can drag that one out...
