Default What air pressure in rear shocks?

I picked up my new FLHTC in June 08 and rode it for 2 months then checked the rear air shocks to see the PSI and nothing! This is after the 1600 km first check up. Did the Dealer Tech miss checking this? I used my friends shock air pump and put 18 lbs in it. and it holds OK.
I thought they would have checked this and I should have also I suppose. What PSI does everyone set theirs to. I'm 250 lbs and occasionally ride with a passenger so I'm running around 18 PSI and it seems very smooth.
I read the manual and saw the chart. It doesn't look like there is any damage but I couldn't believe there was no reading at all. My friend (with the pump) said he picked his new Street Glide up and had 3 PSI in his shock.

I am about your size. My wife is about 1/2 that.... We are still looking for that psi that gives us the ride we are after.... 20 was not enough for two up, and she is thinking 30 is too stiff. Gonna try 25 next time 2 up. Running solo, I like 20 psi.... gives me the ride I want. Good luck!

I like a FIRM ride.. I weigh 240 lbs, I played around, and find that 25 PSI works best for ME.... get yourself a shock pump.... check the local bicycle shops, and get a zero loss, low volume hand pump, it should have a scale , and get a low pressure one, say 0-50 PSI

I honestly think each bike is different, and that you've really got to just play with it until you get it where you want it. Try a log book, and record the setting (psi) and then as soon as you return from your ride record your impressions. Then make your adjustments, and do the same thing. After about 4-5 adjustments, you can dial that baby in, and you know what's best for both solo, and two-up riding....

Lone Wolf I don't think the shocks are gonna be hurt with no air pressure but they will bottom pretty easily that way. 20 to 30 lbs depending on load and your preferences seem about right for my butt to be happy.

I go about 185 and my other half is about 140 and I have about 18-20 psi Not to firm, and it doesn't bottom out. I would play with 20-25 and see how it feels. Don't think no air in the shocks hurt the shock tho. If it's held the same for a week or so, I'd think your good.

I'm 195lbs, mainly ride solo and I run my shocks at about 16lbs pressure. 10-12lbs and I feel bumps riding over painted lines. Still shaking around Progressive 412's or 440's shocks for a much better ride as a winter project.
