Dealer loaning me 09 rims
Over at the dealer getting a tour pack rack installed ( I know I could do it, just get too nervous about screwing it up), get to talking to the service manager and tell him I intend to chrome my 09 Ultra rims. Well we bs a little more then I ask him if he had a set of 09 rims to loan me to get chromed. He checks with GM, asks isf I intend to have them do the mounting that they could loan me a set on thursday, someone else getting new rims installed. Called chrome pros, they will do it for 550 + shipping, takes 3 weeks. I have to get the chrome front end on now, before the rims get back, will do myself with the help of the forum of course. I am happy with this situation.

Oh man, I've been waiting for exactly this post. PLEASE, PLEASE post pictures of those '09 ULTRA wheels once they've been chromed. I used ChromeProsPlating to do my wheels, same price 3 years ago, and they do GREAT WORK. You will love it. I can't wait to see them as I really like those wheels. That's the first thing I said when I saw them in Rapid City on my Sturgis Trip. I'm hoping that one of these Forum members is going to put some slick 21" or 18" on and I'm going to try and pick up the used one. So, Thanks in advance.

Oh man, now I have to learn how to post pics on this forum, wish they would have made it easier with the upgrade.
Thats the first thought that poped into my head when I seen those 09 stockers also, my buddy just got his heritage rims done by them and that is the best chrome I ever seen anywhere. Will figure out the pics, have tons of pics already just waiting.

Hey, it's a great winter project and you can save some $$ by not having your dealer change tires twice for you. Unless you live in a warm winter climate, I'd be inclined to ride the stocker till the snow flies. Pull the wheels off yourself, and just have the dealer pull the tires and if you don't want to, pull the rotors. They (ChromePros) pressed the bearings out for me, but your dealer can do that too when they remove the rubber from the wheel. Then again, they might be able to cork your bearings. I'd call them before pulling the bearings, as it's an 09, sealed bearings, and you might be able to save even more. But, I'm all about saving the $$. Again, you gotta post the pix.

Bigsky I live in Fla, year round flat terrain no twisty riding. I send the rims out tomorrow. Will be travelling in Asia for next 3 weeks so will have chrome pros send rims direct to dealer, they are charging me $200 for bearing removal and mounting. Hoping the bike is ready when I get back.
