Cold left pipe on Road King Classic ('01)
Hello to you all from the Netherlands; my first post in this forum so I don't know it's the right place:
I own a Road King Classic from 2001. After a good ride I warn my children never come near the bike because of the hot parts, but last week I noticed that the left exhaust pipe was (hand)warm, not very-hot like the right one. I can imagin because the right pipe is connected with the front- and back cylinder and the left with only the back cylinder.
My question: Is this only by my bike or is this normal and I don't have to worry?
Don't mention my English, it's diffucult to explain in another language...
Thanks in advance, Danny

It sounds normal if you are running the stock exhaust system. More of the exhaust (and thus, heat) exits the right pipe because of the crossover (the right pipe is actually venting both the front and a good deal of rear the rear cylinder exhaust). A much smaller percentage actually exits the left, so that pipe will tend to run somewhat cooler.
