Default Earplugs...........what are people using?

I'm looking for earplugs to reduce wind noise, but still allow good hearing of what's around you.

What are people using?

Thanks,

Steve

Don't use 'em, after 23 years of Field Artillery, I don't think I'll do much more damage.

I just ride with my fingers in my ears and the cruise on, take 'em out when I slow down and the wind noise reduces so I can use the clutch and brake.

Seriously, try the cheap throw aways, if they don't do what you want, go to a gun shop or Wal-Mart sporting goods adn get a kit to custom make them for your ears.

After trying a number of different plugs, I have found the Hearos referenced above to work best for me. Don't ride without them. Unfortunately I didn't start early enough and my hearing was damaged from years of riding without any protection (wind and exhaust).

I just use the disposables from work until i finally picked up a box of 200 from ebay for $12. I can hear the radio better with them and i like the disposable factor. I have enough crap to keep up with. I carry a few dozen in the dash pocket.

I get custom molded plugs. A lot more comfortable, block out more wind noise than others I have used, and come in custom colors to match your ride. Go see an audiologist or go to a biker event that has a vendor mall as I have seen audiologists at these events and where I got mine. They are made of a soft silicone, and you get your mold back so you only have to do the sitting once. Now when I need new plugs I just send them my mold and they send me new plugs for about $90 and they last about 4 years

I switched from 1/2 to 3/4 helmet and found it blocks most wind noise and I can still hear the radio. Actually I can hear the radio much better.
