Earplugs...........what are people using?

That's the thing................wind noise.
Lately my ears are killing me after riding at highway speeds, the wind is just amazing. I'm not sure if it's the different windshield this season, or if I'm just getting old and the abuse is catching up to me.
I'm going to pick up one of those custom fit ear plug kits that you do yourself, they are like $18 on Ebay. I'm debating calling a local Audiologist and making an appointment to get checked out and have a good set made......I just hate spending $$ on doctors visits.......LOL

I used the cheap throw aways for years. They work OK but I recently had some custom muscian earplugs made. What a difference. Way more comfortable and I actually hear better with them then the disposable ones as they are designed to keep the ear damaging noise out but you can still hear very well. Well worth the $100.

A lot of that depends on what full face helmet you wear. My Shoei RF1000 is very quiet with the shield fully closed. There's hardly any air noise at all. Even cracked open on the first notch the air noise is minimal.

Agreed, this website is very good. I bought these "Windtamers" about 3 months ago and have been very happy:

Yes, I am a cheap SOB....but they work well, very comfortable and were less than $15 including shipping to TX.

I got a set of moldable ones at Walmart for 20 bucks. Comes with two different colored clay type bars that you cut in half and mix together you then cram that into your ear wait 20 mins pull them out and let sit 24 hours. Good as the ones you get from the Audiologist, but a faction of the cost.
