Sometimes that's even worse! There have been some recent studies that say the way the air ventilates through the helmets can sometimes increase the decibel rating inside the helmet.
I just use the disposable ones from Wal-Mart (same ones I use while at the shooting range). Reduces the sound of the wind quite a bit, helps alot.

I'm going to check out Walmart and see what I can find there. I don't want the orange or green ones that you squish down and push in the ear.
I found some other ones that are suppsed to be good according to what I read online, and they are like $10-$20 for a pair. I did see a kit that makes the custom molded ones for like $120.
My ears are shot already from many years of high-end car audio, high-end home audio, concerts, and loud toys over the years. But now I'd like to protect what little bit I have left.

After being a AB on many flightdecks, then being in the power industry around turbines for many years. I now use ear-plugs. Ya I let the horse out of the barn when I was younger cause I know I have hearing issues. I have some custom made units, their more comfy to me. Fleshtone, not as obvious.
And I even wear them at work. Where I should have been wearing them in the begining.
