Default Screamin Eagle Ultra

I ran into a guy that's trading in a real nice 2005 Screamin Eagle Ultra on tuesday. He offered it to me for $22,500 and claims that's what they're giving him on trade. His price got my curiosity so I looked at the NADA and Kelly BB websites. The results are lot different when you compare their trade-in or retail prices. I've heard that dealers go by NADA but who gives the most accurate values on used bikes ?

In 2005 there was no SE Electra Glide Ultra Classic.

In 2004 and 2005 they offered the SE Electra Glide Classic, not a huge difference but still not the Ultra Classic.

Just a heads up for ya.

There is a dealer near me that has a 2005 SE EG that they have had for almost a year. I looked at it last year but didn't want to spend over 20k.

Most dealers use NADA wholesale value for trade-ins. If they are giving him any more than that it is probably because they are taking money off of what he is buying and putting that number on his trade to make the deal look better to him.

Yea, you're right and thanks for pointing that out to me. I was wondering why it didn't have the armrests and extra speakers. Even without that stuff, it's a real nice scooter.

Thanks for the info Monster. The NADA website gives you a real generic list to describe your options and then says to add 10-30% for extras. That really leaves you guessing... This guy claimed to have an extra $10,000 invested in wheels and chrome and from my experience with dealers, those extras probably didn't bring his value up much. I don't think I'm interested in this bike but I'll probably call the dealer later this week to see how much they're asking. I'll bet they brag about all those extras when the bike is on their showroom floor !

Dealer won't pay much for extra chrome on a trade in.....but will
make you aware of how much the add-ons cost when they sell you the bike.
You will always pay more for a vehicle if you buy it from a dealer than if you buy it from a private seller. Just depends on if and how much financing you need.
Got cash? Buy from a private person. At a dealer...the house always wins.

Great question - I've had dealers quote both. If you ever go in and tell them you know KBB lists your bike at 'X', they'll tell you they use NADA and [B][U]it[B][U] lists your bike at 'Y', and vice-versa. I think they use whatever is convenient to them.

FWIW, there is no '05 Screamin' Eagle Ultra, they didn't come out with those until '06. The '05 Screamin' Eagle Electra Glide shows a trade-in of $17,600 in KBB (retail of $22,470), and the '06 Screamin' Eagle Ultra shows a trade-in of $21,200 (retail of $26,390).

Default 05 Classic

I'll tell you this.... I had a 2005 SE Electra Glide and loved it. I don't know what they are worth now, but I just got 28K for my 07 SE Ultra. (Yes the 05 is a classic, not an ultra). IMO the 103 is the best engine the MOCO has going. Pulls really hard and runs nice and cool. The 07 with the 110 is Hottttt. Even with a PCIII. I traded down to an 08 Ultra and got $7,000.00 change. I think the 05 CVO Glide is the best looking paint. I like the Red. Anyway I bet you would like it.

That's a lot of jingle but that's also alot of bike. I might be tempted. That was a great year. How many miles does it have, or did I miss that somewhere above?
