I'm a Redline Fan, and it's always served me well. It's not intuitive that heavier fluid would make a clunk, but rather the reverse. If for some reason it's not working for you, just switch. It's only a couple of bucks. But I would seriously think there is something going on that is NOT related to the switch of fluids in the tranny. Sometimes stuff happens, and just because of the timing, it doesn't necessarily mean that's the problem. JMHO.

RedLine in all three holes. Everything was quieter after changing over.

Redline and only Redline. I've posted this before so I'll be brief. I had only an ounce or so of Redline in my tranny for 2500 miles. No noise and no problem. That's been 12,500 miles ago and all is running fine. I'm sold on the stuff!

Redline VTwin tranny fluid...the pink stuff? IMHO, I've noticed noisier shifts but smoother running overall in my 07 SG also.

Yeah man the pink stuff. Redline Heavyweight shockproof.

I didn't have any issues with smooth shifts before and I really didn't notice a clank noise when i downshifted - but I'm used to running Redline and Mobile 1 (this was in a Big Dog). Like I said not sure if I'm just listening harder now - but it was noticable. We'll see how it sounds after I put something else in it...like the abover poster said, its only a few bucks to try something else.
