I lowered My 08 Road King using Progressive 11.5 inch 418's and experienced frequent bottoming out over square edge bumps and the ride just wasn't that great and the bike squatted down in the back and was definitely to low, I wanted to lower the bike 1 inch overall and having not done My homework didn't realize the stock shocks were 13 inches, I just installed a 12" pair and the stance is much better, we'll see tomorrow if the 1/2 inch length difference helps, stand by for results.

 

if you like the ride height of the 12" try asearch on here for shock oil . i recharged my 12" with 10 wt pure synthetic oil and eliminated almost all of the bottoming issue. firmer plusher ride was a plus!

 

i just also added a 1/2 went from stock 12's to 12.5 progressives 412's well see how she rides today, with my long fender i would scrap coming out the driveway also two-up would bottom out often. hope it helps.
