Lowers Needed? Turbulence?
#12
I couldn't stand to use my "Highway Pegs" on I have on the engine guard.
My legs ended up being like "Giant Wings" directing the wind right in my face.
After I put the lowers on, all is fine now.
I can put my feet anywhere and there is no trouble with the wind.
Of course all our speed limits here in Texas are 70 mph so I have wind all the time.
If I rode 60 mph there wouldn't be a problem. 65 and up is where all the wind is a bother for me anyway.
I have a 9 1/2" Clearview windshield too.
Your windshield may be too short also for passenger comfort.
Buy the lowers, I guess is what I'm trying to say. LOL

I've had turbulance with the stock H-D RK windscreen and installed the Chrome Front Fork Air Baffle. That helped keep wind and rain from being blown up into my face from between the forks.
As I installed the DCC fairing when the air baffle was inplace then it showed me just how much better the DCC fairing was over the stock H-D windscreen.
Only a while later I opted for the lowers to put on the final touch.
Try getting an air baffle and see what difference you find with it on and off, with or with out the factory windscreen or DCC fairing. You will find its not coming from the DCC fairing.
OBTW, I'm 6'3" and have a long waist, so I've chose the 9" windshield for my fairing. That also works for me.

Thanks for the input, my lowers should come this week, and I'll put them on. In the mean time I'm going to buy a fork baffle as suggested. Also spoke to Clearview and I'm going to try a bigger recurve windscreen... close to 7" but it should play like an 8.5 or 9. I'll keep you guys posted.
