Default 3-ball bearings fell out of motor during oil change

I had the bike level on a lift, and was draining both the trans and the motor at the same time, 7000 miles on the bike this was the 3rd oil change, 20W-50 Amsoil in the motor ,, Red-Line Shockproof in the trans. While dumping the oil I found these 3 bearings. one 1/4 in, and the other two 3/8 in. and I really dont know if they came from the tansmission or the motor. My first thought was maybe the 3/8 from the clutch shift block?? I re-filled with new oil, there are no strange sounds, no vibrations, the clutch lever feels fine, So I called the dealer, they said they would have to test ride it, and if they could not hear anything I would have to wait until something goes, Not what I wanted to hear. If anyone has any thoughs I would appreciate it... Thanks Tim

What year is your ride? This stuff is scary to hear as a potential new buyer...

You don't hear this kind of thing with the Jap bikes...

The first thing that I said when reading your subject line was "WHAT".....

I would most definantly keep an eye on it. I'd even run a magnet into that case and see if it brings anything else out!

Be interesting to find out how they got into the cases? Maybe someone at an assy plant had a bad day?

I found a Swahili pigmy in mine.................NORMAL.

Ball bearings in the crankcase were a Pre-strike gift for all '08 owners......no charge.

Exactly. Maybe I should! hearing stories like this is not a good sign, especially for a bike brand priced thousands more then others.

Relax, they put ball bearings in the case to keep the crankshaft polished. Antiquated but effective.
