EVO 49T Sprocket & Ring Gear FLH
I keep lining up things I want to do to the 07 Ultra this winter, so far I'm adding the 08-09 Brembo front brakes, possibly a Jagg 10 row oil cooler.
And finally I want to lower the gear ratio, which there are four ways to go about it. The Evo Industries 30T motor sprocket, the Andrews 32T front pulley, a 68 or 70T rear pulley,
and now this EVO Industries 49T sprocket and rear gear for the clutch end of the primary.
Can anyone explain what is involved in replacing the Sprocket and Ring gear on a Clutch?
Thanks.

I had my HD dealer do the 49t conversion Evo Ind on my bike. They have to drill out the factory rivets attaching the clutch basket to the factory sprocket, then bolt the basket to the new sprocket with new special bolts. You need to buy the special drill bit from them too also to help do this conversion. When completed, I lost 6th gear indicator light and cruise. Then don't have a work around yet, so I had it removed and put back an evo 46t sprocket with bolts to convert back to stock gearing. They warrantied the sprockets, and 1/2 the dealer labor charge, so, Evolution did help me somewhat with a problem they caused with their conversion kit. Unless they have figured out a way to trick the HD ECM into thinking the new lower speed/RPM is really 6th gear, and will fire the light, and cruise circuits, I'd stay away from it on the '08's. I talked to the company about it and they said there were very few complaints about the cruise not working, but the light was for sure not going to work, so, maybe my bike was a fluke.
I ended up doing the stage II big bore kit and am happy now, except, of course, low gear isn't changed. It is still too fast (idle is 10 mph),
