There has to be a way to calculate that based on percentages. Do you know your current RPM's at 80? Give me that I can calculate it for you. Here are my calculations.

Gear Ratios Stock w/49TCS w/30TES 2006 Stock

To my knowledge I didn't think anyone was making a engine compensator for a 2007 Bagger? I would be curious to see how Bakers 30T trans sprocket works? My choice may just be a DD7 just waiting to find out my cost. After reading this post I'm going to have to ponder my decision for a while and see how this thread fairs out.

Evolution Industries makes an engine sprocket that is 30T. However it is direct fit without a compensator.

It's approx 2800 @ 80 in 6th gear... I think the 49 tooth adds approx 300rpm.

.

just curious....why does changing the rear pulley teeth count require a belt change?

Is it because the belt becomes too long/short?
(or)
Is it because the pulley is a different width which requires the diff size belt?

i am not going to have super horsepower... probably Stage 1, air cleaner, slip ons-, some kind of power commander.

thanks

.

The "more oomph" and "better gas mileage" require two different directions with respect to ratios. Can't get both.

I'd agree with I think it was Ken, with the gear change you will get better throttle response and performance, but your fuel economy will suffer. I just signed up with Evo Ind. as a dealer and I'm going to get the 30T for a project 103 2007 Ultra were doing. In my opinion I feel it's better and easier than changing out the belt an trans compensator.I'll keep you posted.

Ken you are so correct in that statement!

Here's my thinking..

My dyno sheet shows my torque curve to hold pretty steady past 3250, but I've got 10 more horsepower at 3250 than I have at 2750. I'm hoping that by changing my gear ratio, and moving my normal cruising speeds from 2600 - 2800 up into the 3000 - 3250 RPM range it should result in a stronger pull, and possibly a better mileage due to being able to back off the throttle some to hold my cruising speed.
