Default Anyone read the EG Standard review on motorcycle.com??

Just read it.

Here is the link

One thing that really stood out.
This new bike doesn’t suffer the same buffeting that previous models endured from crosswinds or the turbulence generated by tractor/trailers or larger vehicles. The instability or “wobble,” that can be encountered in such windy conditions (especially on prior year models with their bat-wing fairing) seemed non-existent with this model.
I have seen people post that the handling is so much better and that the rear wheel wobble is gone. But I don't recall anyone saying anything about the lack of buffeting caused by crosswinds or turbulence. Guess if that is the cause chalk up another one for the 09 frame.

I thought the 09 StreetGlide I rode was considerably stiffer than the 07 I rode a yr & a half ago. It was stable as the article mentoned, but yeah, it rode like a Mack Truck.

I've got an '08 touring bike and I never noticed any wobbling.

That said, the touring lineup for '09 looks just fab. I like the new frame pieces, fatter tires and wider fender.

I often wondered if improperly balanced tires cause the majority of this problem know as the "wobble." On my '07, I have never experienced a wobble, even at 70-75 mph. Now,l when I change my front tire, there is a noticable "harder" ride until the tire was broken in.

Thumbs up No Wobble on an 06 SG

I have an 06 Street Glide and do not notice any wobble or crosswind problems.
In fact I was happy that it was so much more stable than my Dyna Glides.

Read that again! It says it not the same buffeting. I have ridden behind semi trucks and in windy conditions for years and you are still going to get buffeting if you are on two wheels. I just don't believe it could be non-existence on any motorcycle. Just my 2Cents!

The ride of my 09 FLHR is stiffer than my 01 FLHP was. I kept the 17 inch windshield from my 01 and i have found that i get less buffeting on the 09 than i did on the 01. I have a quick dtach fairing and so far i have not wanted to put it on. i didn't want to take it off of my 01 when riding but i kept it when i traded as i knew it wouldn't help the trade-in price.

It would seem that the lower profile 17" tire vs the fat 16" old tire would ride firmer just as 18 and 21" swap's do.
