Default Integration of the Radar Detector into the Soundsystem

Is there any way to integrate the Harley radar detector on the Harley mount into the soundsystem on an Ultra Classic, so when it goes off, the beeps come through the speakers while the radio is on?

Here is my problem, we have the headsets on for use with the intercom and the cb. With the headsets on, you can't hear the radar detector go off, short of catching the lights scroll across the display, you never know it goes off.

There is a plug on the side of the factory mount but this is for it's own headset, it has been suggested to plug that into the accessory plug on the face of the radio, but then you have no radio. This would be like plugging an ipod in.

Any ideas?

Anyone?

Check out the Kennedy Technology Group (www.cellset.com) products.

I just spoke with them on the phone and they do not think it will work with the Harley radar detector and the Harley mount. The lady I spoke with suggested I email their engineer direct with what I have and what I am looking to do.

i had found a site awhile back that would allow for adding things to the ultra radio, but it is major expensive - something like around $700. i had initially wanted to do that type of thing with a phone.

another option i had found is something, maybe bluetooth, that would transfer a signal to a small red light on the inside of your helmet and it would go bright when the radar detector went off. this was cheaper, but still somewhat expensive.

if you think you might be interested, i could go searching again and see if i can find those sites. let me know.

I'm interested. Another option might be using the mike input for the sidecar. I need to check out what I need to purchase. The radio might need to be flashed.

I emailed them and the reply I got was that it would not be cost effective to hook up only a radar detector, they said it would be close to $375. For that price, I could buy a bluetooth radar detector. I emailed them back and said to run me a price and tell me what hardware I would need, just for curiousity's sake.
