If you had not been thinking about it until you had the bike dynoed why would you do it? Numbers mean nothing , how the bike peforms to YOU is the only thing that matters! If you want more now because of those numbers prepare yourself for disappointment. I know this is not what you want to hear but chasing horsepower becomes addictive so if you were satisfied before throw away that dyno sheet and ride, if you were not and had her dynoed to see where she performed to confirm your suspicions then do what you want to her! There is plenty of info on hop ups on this forum and others but your local shop may be where you should start to ask questions, Good luck

I agree with qtrracer. BUT......If you do decide to enter the performance world you can do it gracefully and a bit at a time. Start with cams.....then maybe a 95 kit.........add heads........all in steps, till you are happy with what you have. Beware though!.....it is a disease! Many of us are terminal!!!!
BTW The 103 kit will require you to change out your crank on your 88.

If you are happy, really happy leave it alone. If you are not, join the party and get happy. It's a blast.

I'm liking the new CVO RG but having trouble finding one. The local HD dealer has theirs sold. So they approched me with a '09 RG, have fun with some chrome and stuff, and do the 110" and a Baker 7 speed trans.

Any opinions on this combo?

Yachtman,
Forget the 110, go either 103 or 113. If you go 110 or 113 the bottom end has to come apart for case boring. R they going to warranty after the build? If not, don't bother. Stick with the stocker till warranty expires. Just my .02

I think when you do the math you will find the CVO bikes are a deal if you are going to go as far as they do. Yes it would be great fun doing some rebuilding and chrome... that's what I did and in my opinion looks better than a CVO and it is unique, but I have to tell you it's more money.

basically two motors in the group I ride with 103s and se 110s. the 103s walk the dog on the 110s every time and every time you stop to fill up the 110s use more fuel.

Go for it. Why not? Although I've faced the same dilemma, I've resisted the urge. I'm almost 70,000 into it, and I still love it. I've really decided the reliability issue is something I don't want to wrestle with anymore.

Yeah I love my 2001 RK and won't ever change it. As a second bike the '08 with the motor and trans seems interesting. It's black, which isn't my favorite color but a good deal is in the air.

Helikenny,
Thanks for the tip and advice. I think it was the 103 that they discussed.

And the two year warranty stays the same, as I was told when asked. The CVO RG is unique and in few numbers, which is the appeal factor. At the end either will cost around the same. The '08 black already has some goodies.
