Default 6th gear light indicator?

I would rather have a dash light that let me know when I am in 5th gear instead of 6th.

I wind up in 6th and have to shift back to 5th way too often.
For you electrical minded, is this possible?

May I suggest just watching your RPM's instead of always wondering what gear you're in? Keep them >2200 and you're fine.

OR you can take the cage and never have to wonder again.

Or re-gear the whole shabang with an EVO Industries 30 tooth and you'll lose the light all together!!!

Listen to you engine/transmission. I can always tell when I'm in 5th by the slightly different sound from the tranny....its noticeable as soon as I click into 5th.

My tranny is quiet, I can tell by the rpms and the sound. There is a harmonic drone when the engine, gearing and the feel of where you are in the power band sounds just right.

Sometimes if I'm not paying attention and shifting a lot, it is easy to lose track of what hear you're in: "is it 3rd or 4th, where the hell am I?" Ride it more; you'll get used to it. 5th has its own sound that I know. If you're below 70 and lugging, you're probably in 6th. Watch the rpm's and speed and you'll get it figured out.

if you ride enough your ear will tell you if not several people make aftermarket digital devices.
