Anybody with technical resources can write a book. Seems to me he is slightly biased and "plugs" certain companies, ignoring others in the quest for perfomance with his magazine articles. Not well rounded information IMO. I'll save my money. I get more from my collegues and fellow wrenches.

Now guys (the last 3 posts) . . . don't flame me for saying this but . . .
How can you rag on a book WHEN YOU HAVEN"T READ IT?
Open your minds enough to at least get the book. Then you can have a leg to stand on when you spout off.
Now, I said it. IMO you all deserved a good lashing.
Keep in mind that I'm smiling as I write this.
Steve
BTW, I have read the book. So there . . .

Not a bad book. Some what over the top for those who don't wrench.
I prefer a FSM.
But if you are looking for actual performance project books for the do it yourselfer,
get the Motorbooks Workshop "101 Harley-Davidson Twin Cam Performance Projects" by: Chris Maida with Mark Zimmerman the photography by Jeff Hackett alone beats Donny's VOL I with a stick.
And you can get the Motorbooks Workshop "101 Harley-Davidson Evolution Performance Projects" by: Kip Woodring and Kenna Love.
And the "101 Harley-Davidson Performance Projects for Evolution Big Twins and Sportsters" by Kip Woodring and Kenna Love.
All three are excellant. (no affiliation to any of them)
Or if you want some more reading:
"The BIG BOOK of Harley-Davidson HORSEPOWER", by Tom Murphy
and a very good one:
"American V-Twin Engine Hop-Up & Repair, Evo & Twin Cam", by Tim Remus & Chris Maida.
Happy Reading
