Default 1,400 Mile Service

My 1,000 service appointment for my 3 week old 08 Ultra is this next thursday the 18th. I have 1,100 on it right now. Can't get in sooner. The weather just cleared for the next few days and a few buddy's are leaving today for an overnight, 300 mile round trip. That means I'll have 1,400 on it when it goes in for the first service. Any big problems with this, like warranty issues, or should I just go?

By the way. I"M GOING!!!! Just wanted to hear what you guys have to say. Thanks.

If I was you, I would at least change the oil and filter myself. Then just save all your receipt or better yet, buy the oil/filter from the dealer where your planning on having the 1000mi service done, and save that receipt. There is no rule written in stone that all scheduled services must be done at a authorized HD dealer to keep your warranty in force. As long as you can show the dealer that the work was in fact done, and you have paper work to back it up. I let my local dealer do my 1000mi service just to get a relationship going with them, but I do all the services after that. You could just ask at your local dealer and see what they tell you.....I aint saying that it will be accurate though.

There was a guy here on the forum that put up a link for a Word document all made up for all the scheduled services. I use that to keep track. I dont know what you would search though....pdf file? Word doc? I still have to get my GF to write in what I want because I dont know word that well.

I had nearly 1300 miles on mine before I could get it in for the 1000 Mile Service. No problem with the dealer concerning the extra miles, just the $300 they charged me for it!!

Is this the service record document you were referring to?
